A Cancer Cure is only required because your immune system has been compromised by years of neglect. We go through our life thinking, it’s OK, this one meal will not harm me and we think…tomorrow, I’ll have a salad. We eat fast food and we think...tomorrow I’ll have a salad. We eat pizza with extra cheese and we think…tomorrow, I’ll have a salad. And I ask,
“All this for a piece of cake?”
It’s true, we are wired to really love sugar, salt and fat. Especially sugar. You can get a slice of cake from the Cheesecake factory, you can get as much as 5000 calories of pancreas busting sweetness, enough calories to survive for several days! Everywhere you go, our food is literally designed to be simply irresistible!
So, every day, we eat just one more piece and promise ourselves that we will make a better choice…tomorrow.
What are the results of this “maybe tomorrow” behavior?
Obesity, Heart disease, Adult onset Type II Diabetes, Fibromyalgia and all kinds of other mysterious systemic problems, and ultimately, the breakdown of the immune system and the growth of Cancer in the body.
And I ask, “All this for a piece of cake?”
I wish I could instill the desire in everyone to rethink immediate gratification and putting off until tomorrow what we should be doing today. Sadly, I don’t know how…yet. But I’ve not given up.
My journey has taught me the hard way. I did not make any changes until I was literally too afraid not to. When I found myself recovering from surgery with a diagnosis of stage IV colon cancer, I was firmly in tomorrow land. Tomorrow had come and I had choices to make.
Do I start taking care of myself today? Right now? Or do I wait, again, until tomorrow?
Fortunately, I decided that immediate action was required. The first better choice I made was to start eating vegetarian food.
Then, everything changed. It took a few weeks before my hunger pangs stabilized and then, magic happened. My blood sugar levels stabilized, leveled out and I was no longer hungry all the time. My energy levels stopped rising and falling like a roller coaster. I did not feel like I was going to pass out unless I ate my next meal immediately.
It reminded me of giving up caffeine only not as severe. Giving up caffeine makes your head feel like it’s going to explode for up to a week and then it goes away and you’re ok. Classic withdrawal symptoms. Giving up sugar is more subtle and not quite as uncomfortable. But after a few weeks, you feel so much better!
I know this to be true because I have gone through it, and so have many others. My own sister finally decided to give it a try and the symptoms of her mysterious fibromyalgia were mitigated for the first time in 20 years. Modern medicine never suggested she modify her diet. And only when she did, did her symptoms abate.
Another example – My friend’s wife was presenting with tongue cancer for the second time. The first time, she subjected herself to surgery to remove it. What was ahead of her this time was more surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, a whole lot of pain and very likely an ultimately horrible death.
Fortunately, I met with my friend and his wife and let them know about what I was learning on my journey. She decided to give the protocol in chapter 5 of Bill Henderson’s book, Cancer-Free, the same protocol I’m using, a try.
The results? The cancer on her tongue disappeared and has not returned. It required no surgery, radiation or chemotherapy treatments.
Let’s be perfectly clear. I’m not insisting that Bill’s protocol is ‘a’ or ‘the’ cancer cure for everyone or anyone. But it’s powerful medicine as in Hypocrates saying, “Let food be thy medicine and medicine by thy food.” It helps rebuild your immune system, stabilize your blood sugar, reduce the omega 6 fats that suppress your immune system, reduce your weight without dieting, and overall, completely changes the way you feel for the best.
In the best cases, there are hundreds and hundreds of testimonials from people who have found their cancer cure in this and similar natural protocols. At worst, like me, they got all these benefits and also mitigated the side effects of chemotherapy. Many other people, after going through several rounds of chemo, finally got their cancer under control only after adopting such a natural protocol. Others, even more severe, had been sent home to get their affairs in order and prepare to die, only to get their cancer under control and go into remission.
Obesity, heart disease, … Cancer…, all this for a Piece of Cake?

UPDATE: April 21, 2014. Went to see my oncologist today to get the results of Thursdays MRI. It was mostly good news. Not as over-the-top as I hoped for, but it was still mostly good news.
My “Preformance Status” was excellent. If I was any other person without liver tumors, I’d be in perfect health. My Karnofsky rating is about 90%, my Zubrod is Zero. So, basically, I’m in perfect health except for the tumors in my liver.
My liver still has the tumors in it. The largest tumor has doubled in volume from 21.4 cc to 52 cc, but my liver function is unimpaired and functioning better than most peoples livers. My liver is not enlarged or otherwise compromised. This is very good news.
Apparently, due to the efficacy of my natural alternative therapy, the urgency for starting more drastic measures like chemo is somewhat abated for now. This gives us the opportunity to leverage my strength and undergo the surgery to reconnect my colon. Over the next week we’ll be scheduling this procedure. I’ll recover quickly, though, this time. Should only take 4-5 weeks before I’m getting around well again.
I’ll continue my therapy for the next 8 weeks and we’ll check on my liver again after that. I plan to double down on my therapy and do whatever I can to cleanse and improve my liver in the process. I’m not sure what that will be, but I’ll do the research and get it going.
I have mixed emotions about this, but I’m encouraged that my healing therapy has worked well enough to surprise my oncologist. At first, it was, “we gotta start chemo asap” and now it’s, “let’s continue with your therapy for another 8 weeks, reconnect your colon and see what happens.” Now, my prognosis is much better than when I started.
Nobody said it was going to be easy or quick. I have always believed that my approach is a long term lifestyle based cure. As such, it’s going to be a long haul. I’m sure I’ll be doing my therapy for the next year or more.
Today proves that you can take back your own health and restore your immune system and your strength. It just takes a solid approach, a commitment to the plan, and a daily diligence to make better choices every day!
Alkalizing the body is probably the best thing that a person can do to ensure good health and well being. There is a direct relationship between a person’s pH and the oxygen content of his blood, and a tiny change in pH can have dramatic effects upon a person’s oxygen intake. An alkaline body pH will prevent diseases, and will cure existing ones by exponentially boosting a body’s oxygen intake. As a general rule, pathogens and cancers cannot survive in an oxygen-rich, alkaline environment.

UPDATE: March 27th 2014. I went to my oncologist this morning. I had blood work last week in preparation. All the standard blood work and a liver panel were done to ensure that my liver is functioning properly.
Six weeks ago, I had an MRI that showed a few presumably cancerous nodes in my liver. With my oncologists measuring and monitoring, I started my “oral therapy” a la Bill Henderson’s protocol based on Dr. Joanna Budwig’s approach. Basically, I have a shake in the morning with a lot of supplements and I follow a strict vegetarian diet (with lots more supplements). I have a big salad every day. I don’t eat meat or dairy. I must minimize my stress all around.
At first, I think my oncologist was a little skeptical. To be honest, even I had to admit my own trepidation at the start. My own mindset was slowly changing and I was working on convincing my own self that I could cure my own cancer.
Today, I went into the office and had my vitals taken. My blood pressure was slightly elevated and I felt a little anxious about getting the results of the blood tests.
I didn’t have to wait long. My doctor came in and we went over the results of my tests. To my great relief, he said that my blood test results said that my liver is “as healthy as a horse.” My numbers indicated above average liver performance all around.
What a huge relief!
In fact, the numbers were overall better than the same work done before I started my cancer treatment protocol. Clearly, what I’ve been doing has been working!
I was especially pleased when my doctor started talking about having me reconnect my ostomy. That’s a big sign that he’s not that worried any more about cancer spreading in my body. His entire demeanor was almost giddy compared to our first two appointments. I think he was as thrilled as I was with the results!
We ended our appointment on a very positive note and confirmed my appointment for my MRI to verify how the nodes in my liver are doing. I’m declaring they are shrinking or gone by then. Time will tell.
As I was going down the elevator, I had a rush of emotions. Relief, laughter, tears of happiness, joy and gratitude. I was crying for no reason with a big smile upon my face. If felt like a huge weight was lifted from my shoulders.
Funny thing is, that even after losing 35 pounds, I didn’t realize the psychological weight I’d been managing in my own head. I’d been shaping my own mindset, convincing myself that a cancer cure was possible. I’ve been keeping my stress down. But still, I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
Now I know I can cure my cancer.
Cancer is scary. It’s tough to deal with conceptually and with cancer treatment. The uncertainty. The time between blood test results. The anticipation of what the doctor is going to say. Wondering if my cancer treatment protocol was working.
Thankfully, I can wonder less now and have that much more confidence in my healing process. I’m not completely “cured” yet, but I know the changes I’ve made to my lifestyle are healing me now and will keep me healthy for the rest of my, hopefully, very long, healthy life.
The basis for an Anti-Cancer diet is going Raw Vegetarian with no meat and no diary. Sounds scary, but really, every salad (sans Chicken or Salmon) is RAW food. So, it’s not really that big of a deal.
When I got home from the hospital, I knew I had to make some changes immediately. So I stopped eating meat and dairy. The problem was, I did not know how to be a pure vegetarian. I needed to learn more about it. Getting vegetarian cookbooks was pretty confusing and really not helpful. They didn’t tell me what I needed to know about “cancer treatment.”
Then, I started reading Chris Wark’s blog called, “Chris Beat Cancer.” He’s been down this road too and he has a number of great posts including one on his own Cancer Fighting Salad. He even did a video where he demonstrated building one of these amazing creations. I was completely enrolled and decided start doing these type of salads every day.
My Cancer Fighting Salad
My version of the cancer-fighting salad starts with a layer of salad greens followed by, but not limited to, any/many of the following items:
- Chopped Carrots
- Chopped Radishes
- Sliced Red Onion
- Sprouted stuff
- Green, Red and Yellow Peppers as available
- Chick Peas, Black Beans or other Legumes (great sources of Protein)
- Sliced Tomatoes
- Sliced Cabbage
- Sliced Cucumbers
- Chopped Nuts or Seeds (Almonds, Walnuts)
- Bubbies Sauerkraut
For dressing, keep it simple with Olive Oil and Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar. Sometimes, I keep it even simpler than that. I just pour the water from the Bubbies Sauerkraut over the salad. So my dressing is Olive Oil and Bubbies.
Bubbies Sauerkraut is totally consistent with Doctor Budwig’s observations about the benefits of fermented foods. Lactic-acid-fermented foods are a cornerstone of Dr. Budwig’s protocol. For more information on the Budwig protocol, see this post.
Of course, you can add your own favorite ingredients to the salad. Finally, though, you MUST top it off with some super cancer-fighting spices!
Cancer Fighting Spices
There are some wonderful spices that are extremely cancer-fighting in their own right that I add to my salad and the other food that I eat. There are MUST haves if you are serious about fighting cancer.
The four organic spices you want for your salad are: Oregano, Garlic, Cayenne Pepper, and Turmeric.
Turmeric has been used in indian food and Ayurvedic medicine for thousands of years. Turmeric contains the powerful cancer-fighting polyphenol Curcumin. Curcumin has been clinically shown to inhibit growth of all kinds of cancer cells while, at the same time, inducing apoptosis (natural cell death) in cancer cells.
Oregano is full of antioxidants and antimicrobials. One teaspoon of oregano has the same antioxidant power (ORAC) of two cups of red grapes because of the phytochemical Quercetin, which slows cancer growth and promotes apoptosis.
Garlic is a very powerful anti-cancer spice. Studies have shown it lowers the risk of developing all types of cancers. It has strong antibacterial properties, enhances DNA repair, slows cell reproduction and induces apoptosis.
Cayenne Pepper’s active ingredient is Capsaicin. That’s the stuff that sets your mouth on fire when you eat it. Capsaicin also kills cancer cells by causing Apoptosis.
I recommend you use all four of these cancer-fighting spices in a salad dressing or by simply sprinkling them on your salad when you make it – that’s what I do.
There are other spices that have varying importance in fighting cancer and you can find out more about them yourself. But these four are the must haves.
There is one more must have that I include in my juicing: Ginger. It’s related to Tumeric and it’s also very important in a cancer fighting diet.
